    V. Metcalfe sends this by hand delivery of Joel Adams who travels six days to wait to get from William Watts in Campbell County.  Edgewear and roughly opened at the sealing wax.
    --->VERY NICE watermarked paper - A crown with a coat of arms below it with four quarters.  Top Left--3 fleurons; Top Right--What looks to be a castle tower; Bottom Left--Two dogs and a horse; Bottom Right--harp.
    Content as follows:
    "P. Edward 9 Jany" with "10" rate manuscript 18th Century Virginia stampless folded letter from Prince Edward Courthouse, Virginia.  This is a folded letter from Charles Scott in Prince Edward to William Watts in New London, Virginia.  Scott wrote the notation "pr post" in the lower left on the obverse. Exceptioanlly-choice condition in all respects.
    This item was found in the 1770s-1790s William Watts papers of Prince William County Virginia.
    Content includes:
    Dr. Sir, I rec'd yr. letter some time ago requesting me to receive the papers relative to yr. business in this part of the Country, from Bro. Thomas, which I have done & shall be glad to give you every assistance in my power in the businesses.  I yesterday rec'd a Horse, from the Sheriff by directions of Bro. Tom, taken from Samuel Burton upon an Etlegt.; the horse was appraised to which is mor than his worth.  The Balance of the price of the horse is to be applied to Jno Purnalls Co., you will send for the horse when ever you think proper, he is at my house--my respects to Sister & the Children.  I am yr. friend etc. C. E. S 9th Jany 1795."
