EGG SHAPE~THIMBLE HOLDER~USED
Thimble holder opens and closes with no problem but has  small splits as shown in my photos. Measures about 2"H.
I am not for sure what the holder has been used for the  decorative design/making of this thimble holder~wood? nut? ??resin??
