Offered for sale, an extremely rare 301 year old Province Of Maryland Last Will for George Westall III dated 1718.  The document is on paper that was folded in half such that the crease is torn in the center portion but unseen when opened. The document refers to the 5th Baron of Baltimore and 10th Governor of Maryland, Charles Calvert.  George Westall purchased large plots of land in Anne Arundel including the Towne of London or Londontowne. Londontowne was on the water and traded Tobacco with ships arriving from England. The land was chosen for the quality of Tobacco grown and purchased by George Westall III on the South River Seaport.  There is a Red Wax Seal on the Will in the upper left hand with signature below. The document measures approximately 12" wide by 8" tall. George Westall III was born in 1690 at All Hallows Parish in Anne Arundel and died in 1718 in Baltimore. He was an important Tobacco farmer with 1200 acres of land. This is a great piece of Maryland and American History. Please feel free to ask any questions.

George owned at least 1200 acres, later the site of Londontown,MD on the south shore of the South River (Ref. Anne Arundel Gentry.H.W.Newman, Balt. 1933 pp. 350,424,443) (Ref: Founders of the Colonial Families of Ridgely..."Henry R. Evans, Washington, District of Columbia 1835) George..."Had been brought to Maryland before 1658 by his father, George Westall Sr...he named his plantation 'Scorton' a parish in North Riding of Yorkshire, which was undoubtedly his native parish..."
Also in "Anne Arundel Gentry Vol III" George Westall (Housekeeper of Parish) bu. 17 Mar 1701 (d1702 in "new" calendar) and lists the births and some baptism of his children, and the burial 08-26-1700 of his servant Henery Right. Source: Coleman George willed a tract of land called Jackson ? Venture in Baltimore,MD (30 acres along "Cuppth Creeks") to his sons Richard and George.
