    Description

Hi, my name is Leslie and I love dolls.  I personally have 47 dolls and many more "doll-like" things.  My daughter has recently been given a ton of dolls, many of which have never even been out of the box.  She doesn't have room for them.  I will be keeping two or three and selling the rest.  All of them are in great condition.
In 1923 at the age of 28, Madame Alexander Behman founded the Alexander Doll Company.  Having grown up in her father's doll hospital in Manhattan, she believed dolls should be built more sturdy but still be detailed and beautiful.  Madame not only fulfilled her dream but her dolls became a part of American life for generations.  Her company introduced many toy industry firsts and even emerged from the Great Depression with a new, larger factory.
"You need to believe in people's dreams, especially women's."
    Madame Alexander
Madame Alexander created dolls that reflected history, culture, literature, and art.  Storybooks were brought to life with dolls such as Alice in Wonderland and Gone With the Wind's Scarlette O'Hara.  Her international dolls honored beauty in different cultures and transported doll lovers to distant lands.  Madame Alexander dolls have been featured in the Smithsonian Museum and in 2000, Madame Alexander was inducted into the Toy Industry Hall of Fame.
